Foods to eat on the go, foods to buy and take home, healthy options, vegetarian and gluten free.

The best way to see Sandwich is on one of our fascinating walks.

Taking a tour is a great way to discover the town’s hidden gems and get the most out of your visit.

Let our local guides inform and entertain you as they personally conduct you around the narrow twisting streets of our medieval town, one of the original Cinque Ports.

Whether you are organising a trip for schools, societies or groups, or if you are a family on holiday, our tours are a great way to see the sights and appreciate some of Sandwich’s history.

Tours can take around two hours and cost £2 per person, with a minimum charge of £12.

The White Mill Heritage Centre Sandwich
National Mills Weekend - 14th and 15th May
In conjunction with The Sussex & Kent Stationary Engine Group that display their engines in the White Mill garden

These are the machines that took over from horse power in rural locations to drive the new machines being designed and built during the industrial revolution and thereafter by engineers.
They were eventually superseded by the spread of electricity into the countryside.

French Market will pack the Guildhall Forecourt with genuine Normandy products and foods plus street music, Can Can dancing and cycling - Le Tour de Sandwich
Anglo French Medieval encampment on The Quay Green.

Saturday evening concert featuring the P & O workplace choir supported by Fench musicians.

We Remember Them....

WW1 Remembrance Exhibition

  • A Book of Remembrance in which the names of Sandwich Servicemen who were killed and died of their wounds will be compiled in the Museum. This will be updated on the anniversary of their death.

  • A wall of Remembrance as a collage will be made with photographs or citation of the men.

  • A Book of Memories will be available for relatives of Servicemen, who were killed or later died form their wounds, to write their thoughts and memories as a living tribute to those men.

  • A Year on Year Time Line showing the events of the War, and those who died in each Month.

  • A Book will be on display giving the story behind the Headlines that will be seen in Sandwich over the years of the conflict.
