Sandwich Library Guild - Young Writers of the Year 2012
Sandwich Library Guild invites young people between the ages of 11 and 18 to enter this competition.
If you can write a short story, of between 300 and 1,000 words, they would love to hear from you. Closing Date 23rd March
The Sandwich Celebration - 12th and 13th May 2012
The Sandwich Celebration is a two day event to mark the 250th anniversary of the 'invention' of the sandwich which was prepared for the Fourth Earl of Sandwich, John Montagu.

The celebration will take place on 12-13 May 2012 and will coincide with the British Sandwich Week organised by the British Sandwich Association.
A sandwich making festival with competitions, a food fayre and lots of entertainment.
White Mill Rural Heritage Centre - 12th and 13th May 2012
As part of The National Mills Weekend - The White Mill Sandwich will be open 10:30 am to 5:30pm each day.
A smock mill built about 1760 and last worked in 1957.
The mill contains all the original machinery.
Folk Museum, forge, wheelwright's shop, cobbler's, gift shop.More information about the mill on their website
The National Mills Weekend organised by The Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings was founded by William Morris in 1877 to counteract the highly destructive 'restoration' of medieval buildings being practiced by many Victorian architects.
Sandwich Medieval Fayre
Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th June
at The Delf Farm Shop Field 10:00am to 5:00pm
Experience Medieval life in Sandwich, entertainment for all - Music, Singing, Puppetry, Dancing, Real ale and Cider at the Tavern, Blacksmith, Traders and Stalls.

Olympic Torch Relay in Sandwich

Olympic Torch Relay will be going to Deal, Sholden and Sandwich on Thursday 19th July.

Sandwich Farmers Market
Last Saturday of each month (March to November inclusive).
Sandwich Farmers' Market is held on the Guildhall Forecourt between 9am and 1pm
There is a variety of stalls each week including fish, game, organic butcher, olives, cheeses, fresh flowers, plants, eggs, fruit and vegetables, cakes and whole foods.
