Once-a-year chance to explore historic buildings - properties in Sandwich that are usually not open to the public will be open during English Heritage Open Days during Heritage Open days weekend.
All properties are open at the kindness and discretion of their owners and guardians.
Opening times are restricted to the hours shown and may be subject to possible alterations

Most events free to enjoy in pubs and on the outdoor stage on the Guildhall Forecourt, with a small number of ticketed events to complete the line up.

Street Entertainment over the weekend from groups of Morris Men Dancing and Mummers Plays.
The Pub events are free to enter with events at St. Mary's Arts Centre ticketed.

French Market will pack the Guildhall Forecourt with genuine Normandy products and foods plus street music, Can Can dancing and cycling - Le Tour de Sandwich
Anglo French Medieval encampment on The Quay Green.

Beautiful blooms will be on show during the ever-popular Little Gardens of Sandwich event giving garden-lovers a rare opportunity to be inspired by a number of private gardens hidden behind ancient walls of this quaint, medieval town.
This year the gardens will be located around St Clement's Church in the south eastern part of Sandwich and for the first time the nearby allotments will also be open.
Afterwards visitors can enjoy cream teas in the St Clement's Church Hall, browse the specialist plant nurseries in the St Clement’s Churchyard and enter a garden-themed raffle.
Proceeds go to St Clement's Church, Sandwich.
Tickets are £5.00 adults, whilst accompanied children go free, and are available at Sandwich Tourist Office, Guildhall, or at the gardens on the day.

The 800th anniversary of the Battle of Sandwich and its consequences is the focus of the Kent History Federation Conference on Saturday, 20 May 2017, hosted by the Sandwich Local History Society.
Richard Brook (author of William Marshal, The Knight who saved England) will be the guest speaker.
The Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports, Admiral of the Fleet the Lord Boyce KG GCB OBE DL will open the conference.

Only events in Sandwich will be considered
Let the local History Society Guides inform and entertain you as they personally conduct you around the narrow twisting streets of our medieval town, one of the original Cinque Ports.
Whether you are organising a trip for schools, societies or groups, or if you are a family on holiday, History Society tours are a great way to see the sights and appreciate some of Sandwich's history.
Tours can take around two hours and cost £2 per person, with a minimum charge of £12.
