My daughter was visiting Sandwich during October and lost her digital camera. The photos of her little boy Dylan with his Great Grandparents are very special, as are the photos taken London. We are hopeful that someone has found the camera and doesnt know where to return it. We are happy to pay for the return postage back to Australia. If anyone has knowledge we would love to hear from you via the following email address. Kind Regards Julia Skoglund email: julia@migrateaustralia.com.au

I am researching my wife's family history, The Clarks, and our research has taken us back to Brown Clark, born 1800 in Ashford and died 1869 in Eastry. His occupation is listed as a Miller, I understand there was a Clark family at Eastry mill? The 1851 census shows him as living at 93 Knightrider street, Sandwich and his wife was Elizabeth Naylor (Nailor). Does anyone have anymore information. Thanks, Paul Goldsmith.

| Further to my research on the Pay family of Sandwich. My great grandfather was a stonemason. Could anyone help me with the possible name of his employers in those days? I believe he was employed locally. He died in 1916 so I'm going back a while, but any help would be much appreciated.

Visited Sandwich for the first time a week ago and had to say how lovely the town is and the people. Everyone was so friendly and am glad I had the chance to visit and stay overnight. Will definitely make this a "must" see when we visit England again. Thank you Cindy and Michael Angelo

Great stories about Sandwich Bay. Just been staying somewhere that overlooks the River Taf estuary. Seeing the mud flats and sand banks at low tide reminded me of a story of a little girl getting trapped in quicksands at the Bay. Now was this true or a story to frighten us off straying too far from the beach? Pat, don't think I can identify the one who pulled your plaits, might choose the wrong one. In fact not sure who it could have been. When Ian is back from his hols he will surely remember. Wasn't Susan Hampshire's house next to where Dr Jones had his surgery?

As part of my work on the website www.kentfallen.com I am in the final throes of completing the research, and transcriptions of the people who are commemorated on the Sandwich, Kent, civic war memorial. In addition to which are details of several people who are sadly missing from the memorial. My reason for posting this message is to appeal to the good folk of Sandwich,(or elsewhere) to see if I can obtain photographic copies of any of the Sandwich war dead. If anybody can help with the photographs, please make contact via the kentfallen website. Many thanks, David Hughes.

This is a message to Sue/Webmaster of Open Sandwich I am not sure if you have been following the wonderful memories of old Sandwich coming from the children who have grown up in the town and of our very great mutual affection for our very unique Cinq Port home. If so you will already know of my intention to write a book using our collective recollections. With this in mind then I should like to know if an Open Sandwich copyright exists - or if there is in place any restriction as to my quoting from this site. If this is true - or you and your colleagues have any objection legal or otherwise, perhaps you would be kind enough to let me know. Kind regards Liz
