| I lived in Sandwich from 1933/60. including the war years. Does anybody remember the Man who lived under the bridge on the Butts, who used to wander around pointing a stick at the sky? I first went to the infant school in paradise row. Also Brenda Franklin whose father owned the two bakery shops by the school gate

memories Simon - I have put this at the top as we arent getting the response it deserves - your last post was The Chocolate box I refer to was just up from the Weavers, Run by "Ted and Alice" until she opened the Off licence next door. Actually, it was on the corner on Love lane! I remember going to boxing nights at the drill hall with Dad and Grandad cos we only lived at Knightrider st, so only a short stagger. Ps I do remember the double wheel, and Colin, Mother DOES remember the swings opposite the sweet shop at stone cross. Anybody ever but anything in the Bargain shop just up from there? Right then, for a sherbert fountain, who can remember where the Sandwich branch of Oswald Mosely's Blackshirts was based. Answers on a postcard, or a message board please! Simon

| Great web site - interesting looking up gravestone names and reading the scrapbook. Some years ago a friend stayed at a camp site in Sandwich - is there still a camp site there?
