FISHERGATE - The Quay
The lower part of Fishergate dates from around 1384 and the upper part from 1560. It formed part of the fortifications ordered by Richard II.
Directions: Ancient Gateway along Sandwich Quay, opp car park, towards Riverside Gardens, door on left under the arch.

ST. BARTHOLEMEW'S HOSPITAL CHAPEL - Dover Road
St Bart's Hospital was founded in 1190, this is the earliest date of benefactors names. Origanally a pilgrims' hospital. Later became residence for elderly of Sandwich. Now sixteen houses surrounding chapel.

ST. CLEMENT'S CHURCH Knightrider Street

ST. PETER'S CHURCH - King Street
(Churches Conservation Trust)
The tower of St. Peter’s dominates the skyline. Traces of masonry from a Norman church can be seen at the west end. There will be an exhibition on Brunel and his contemporaries.

UNITED REFORMED CHURCH Cattle Market
Sandwich United Reformed Church is amongst the oldest churches still in regular use within the URC tradition. Formed in 1640, this building was used from 1705.
