Bob Blanchard from California presenting a document dated 1729 with an intact Sandwich Seal, to the Mayor of Sandwich and the Museum Curator, in the Mayor's Parlour at the Guildhall.
An Old Document
These extracts were sent to us by Bob Blanchard from California. The document has now been presented by Bob to Sandwich for the archives.

They are extacts from a large land deed signed by Richard Solly who was the mayor of Sandwich in the early 1700's. It is a 99 year lease for a piece of land to Mr. John Kite in the North end of possibly, Monkenquay (the document is difficult to decipher) in the parish of St. Clement in Sandwich for 99 years from 1729.
