Julia Stuart (1867 - 1949)
The life of Julia Stuart or Stewart, is a bit of a mystery, except that she was born in Sandwich and made many silent movies in the United States.
Information kindly provided by Open Sandwich website visitors has been added to the brief account.
Julia Stuart - Actress of the Silent Screen
At the present time we know little about the life of Julia Stuart (also known as Julia Stewart) except that she was born in Sandwich, Kent, made around 70 silent movies between 1911 and 1920 and died in the Bronx, New York, USA on 24th January 1949.
According to a website visitor, whose states that her Grandmother was Julia's cousin, she also worked in Chicago at McVickers Theatre.
The mystery thickens - according to an American website visitor, who looked at the census records for 1920 - the 'Julia Stuart' in the census records was 56 years old in 1920, arrived in the US in 1880 and was naturalized as a US citizen in 1900. It also states that she had a Scottish Father and an English Mother. This may or may not have been 'our' Julia Stuart.
